The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in the 1000 block of S. Belt Line Road. At approximately 9:45 p.m., a Nissan passenger car traveling north on Belt Line Road struck a pedestrian, later identified by his family as Ralph Escobedo, who was attempting to cross the roadway. Ralph did not use the designated crossing path when he entered the roadway and was struck. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
