Single-Vehicle Accident on IH-20 in Grand Prairie Leaves One Dead

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2023, on IH-20 eastbound at Carrier Parkway.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., a Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound in the main lanes of IH-20 when the driver, for unknown reasons, lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete retaining wall. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Someone may have caused get to swerve into the concrete barrier. So tragic. People need to stop driving so aggressively. That may have not been the cause. It could have been a number of things. But people do drive too aggressively.
