Suspect Crashes While Fleeing Grand Prairie Police; Stolen Motorcycle and Narcotics Found at Scene

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Friday afternoon, June 6, in the 800 block of South Belt Line Road.
According to police, at approximately 4:00 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a Harley Davidson motorcycle near Main Street and Belt Line Road. The motorcycle was not displaying a license plate. As the officer made contact with the rider, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed and temporarily evaded law enforcement.
Shortly after, the officer discovered the motorcycle had crashed near South Belt Line and Wheat Hill Drive. Investigators say the rider failed to navigate a curve and lost control. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen. Officers also recovered a quantity of suspected narcotics at the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Grand Prairie Police Department.
