Grand Prairie Police investigate traffic fatality that occurred on I30

Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. today in the 400 block of East IH-30. A Toyota SUV traveling westbound left the roadway striking an interstate highway sign in the median, between the main lanes and the westbound frontage road. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) responded to the accident and kept the highway closed while crews cleared the overhead structure from the roadway.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified. The collision remains under investigation.
