Grand Prairie Fatal Hit-and-Run: Damian Torres Faces Multiple Charges

Grand Prairie, TX - The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently investigating a deadly car accident that occurred on Friday, June 23rd in the 2200 block of S. Belt Line Road.
According to officials, the collision happened around 10:45 pm when a silver Ford Mustang traveling south crashed into a Honda Civic as it was turning left onto East Cober Drive. The driver of the Mustang fled the scene on foot.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and provided medical aid to the injured individuals. A passenger in the Mustang was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Similarly, the Honda driver was transported to a nearby medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tragically, a young passenger in the Honda did not survive the crash. The victim was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office once the family has been notified.
The driver of the Ford Mustang has been identified as 21-year-old Damian Torres. Today, on Saturday, Torres turned himself in and is now being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center. He is facing charges including manslaughter, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of involvement in an accident resulting in death and injury. Torres' bond has been set at $110,000.00.
The investigation is still ongoing as the Grand Prairie Police Department works to gather evidence and determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
