Former South Grand Prairie High School Teacher Arrested for Alleged Inappropriate Relationship with Student
Grand Prairie, Texas - Former South Grand Prairie High School teacher Cody Bush has been arrested for an alleged improper relationship between educator and student.
The Grand Prairie Independent School District (GPISD) released a statement regarding the arrest, stating that central administration received information concerning the matter on March 3, 2023, and immediately placed Mr. Bush on leave. The matter was then referred to law enforcement, which resulted in today's arrest.
It has been confirmed that Mr. Bush has resigned from GPISD, and the matter has been reported to the Texas State Board of Educator Certification.
GPISD Superintendent Linda Ellis emphasized the district's commitment to the safety of its students, stating that "I have no tolerance for any type of inappropriate communication or contact between a teacher and a student. We will continue to partner with the Grand Prairie Police Department to ensure our students' safety."
