Deadly Collision in Grand Prairie: Authorities Investigate Fatal Crash on South Belt Line Road
The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place on Friday, March 24th in the 1800 block of South Belt Line Road. At around 6:40 a.m., a Chevy passenger car traveling southbound veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford pickup truck before continuing south and crashing head-on into a Dodge pickup.
The drivers of the Ford and Dodge pickups sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chevy passenger car suffered serious injuries and was also transported to a hospital. Tragically, a passenger in the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office will release the identity of the deceased once the next of kin have been notified. Investigators believe that weather conditions may have played a role in the accident. It has also been noted that the driver and passenger of the Chevy were not wearing seatbelts, which could have contributed to the severity of their injuries.
The Grand Prairie Police Department is continuing their investigation into this tragic accident.
