Ace Rubio Booking Photo

A booking photo of a man arrested on June 1st has sparked widespread attention. However, a concerned family member of the arrested individual reached out to Grand Prairie News, alleging that the arresting officers may have used excessive force during the incident.

Upon investigating the matter, we contacted the Grand Prairie Police for their official statement. According to Mark Beseda, the Public Information Officer of the Grand Prairie Police Department, the incident unfolded as follows: "Officers initiated a traffic stop on Rubio in the 1800blk of Mayfield for a traffic violation. Upon stopping, he exited his vehicle and fled from officers on foot into a neighborhood. Despite commands to stop, Rubio continued to flee. Officers effectively deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (formerly called Taser) in order to stop Rubio and facilitate the arrest. This caused Rubio to fall to the ground, injuring his head/face area. Rubio was treated and released at a nearby hospital then transported to the GPPD Detention Center. Rubio was a wanted felon out of Dallas County for Resisting/Evading Arrest."

The arrested individual, identified as Ace Rubio, had prior charges of Resisting/Evading Arrest in Dallas County. The Grand Prairie Police Department maintains that their officers acted within protocol during the arrest, utilizing appropriate measures to apprehend Rubio.

If we learn more about this case we will be sure to keep you posted.

Exactly as a friend of the family I luv ace especially wat he has done for my family. I will go forth in helping him! I’ve ordered all body cams for the arrest of mr Rubio. 8 body cams plus the other cam that is soppier to be recording the whole incident ! That’s a lot of camera foootage that they are hiding or trying to say! For one it’s against the law to hit a moving target automotivly or on foot! Especially if he didn’t have no weapons they are not allowed to taser you until you stop unless they feel threatened. You wait n see wat brings about this gppd won’t get away w this dumb asses you will see ! Kena
